Prepare the FIREHOUSE Software database

Not all fields in FH Medic are imported into the FIREHOUSE Software database. To still be able to analyze data and run reports in FIREHOUSE Software, you need to prepare the FIREHOUSE Software database before starting the FH Medic Integration Suite and using the FH Medic Integration Suite to import FH Medic data.

Warning:

  • Back up the FIREHOUSE Software database before proceeding with the tasks below.
  • When you installed and implemented the National EMS Information System (NEMSIS) for your department, if you mapped your existing department lookup codes to the NEMSIS lookup codes instead of replacing your department codes with the NEMSIS codes, you should archive your existing EMS incident records before proceeding. The lookup codes from FH Medic do not match the NFIRS EMS lookup codes.

Caution: Do not use the data transferred from FH Medic to the FIREHOUSE Software database to generate a patient care report. This data is intended for departments to perform research and do statistical reporting.
