Manage items transferring between locations

When you first access the Inventory module, the Action now page appears, displaying a summary of the processes and items in the inventory that require a higher level of attention from you. This includes items in the process of being transferred between locations. Pending transfers are inventory requests submitted to another location, and are waiting to be processed by that location for fulfillment. In-progress transfers are requests being fulfilled by the location they were submitted to.

You can review and manage the higher-priority transfers directly from the Action now page. You can still manage lower-priority pending and in-progress transfers, and transfers in other stages of the process, as described in Transfer items between locations.

  1. (If you have not done so already) Access the Action now page in the Inventory module, select the location you want to work with, and manage the amount of data on the page, as described in Respond to action items.

On the Action now page, the Inventory module displays the Transfers & orders tab by default, and the Pending transfers, In-progress transfers, and Open orders sections appear in the tab.

Note: transfers appear in each section. You can, however, access the full lists of pending and in-progress transfers in the Inventory module from the Transfers & orders tab.

  2. Manage transfers within your agency or department in any of the following ways.

  3. Review the information about the transfer as needed.

  4. Work with the information displayed on the Transfer page, as described in Work with pending transfers or Work with in-progress transfers.
