Set a weather source default for an incident or element (type)
You can define a default source for the weather data that FH Mobile Response displays for an incident. The information includes the wind speed, temperature, moisture, cloud cover, and more. FH Mobile Response also uses the information to calculate and display a chemical plume for hazardous chemical responses.
Note: You must have purchased FH Mobile Response Premium to set a weather source default and use weather information. For information on upgrading from FH Mobile Response Basic to Premium, contact your FH sales representative.

Under Default Weather Source, select the source you want to use for weather information in FH Mobile Response.
InternetUse weather data from the closest weather station to the incident location, that is published to the Internet by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) or WeatherBug.com.
FH Mobile Response subscribes to really simple syndication (RSS) feeds from both sites to provide you with the most current weather conditions possible. NOAA provides the main weather feeds for the entire country, and is run by the US government. WeatherBug.com is a weather-tracking software package with a web site and other tools, and is directly integrated into FH Mobile Response.
When you select Internet as the default weather source, FH Mobile Response checks the latitude and longitude on the incident location, looks at a list of weather stations, determines which one is closest to the incident's latitude and longitude, and provides in the weather information on the Incident tab, on the Summary sub-tab, under Weather.
MET StationUse a portable meteorological (MET) weather station attached directly to the mobile computer to determine weather conditions at the incident scene.
Information on configuring a MET station is available in Configure a meteorological (MET) station.
User ConfigurableManually enter the wind speed, temperature, cloud cover, and other weather on the Incident tab, on the Weather sub-tab.
Information on manually entering weather data is available in Select the weather source for an incident or element (type).
Allow the program to select the Best Weather OptionUse the weather source priority list you establish for choosing the weather source. FH Mobile Response checks the weather source you identified as being the first choice for weather data. If that weather source is not available, FH Mobile Response checks the weather source you identified as being the second choice for weather data. If the second weather source is not available, FH Mobile Response checks your third choice for weather data, and so forth.
Information on prioritizing the list of sources is available in Establish the weather source priority list.
