Administer treatments and medication

Given the population demographics and physical environment your agency serves, your agency may encounter a number of medical issues with more regularity than others. It can be valuable to have short lists of the treatments for the most-common medical issues readily available in the EHR module, when there is need for immediate, urgent documentation, such as time stamp on performing a procedure or administering a medication.

  1. In the upper right corner of the page, click the red shortcuts menu.

Note: In the EHR module, this menu is referred to as the "Quick Treats" (quick treatments) menu.

The contents of the menu appears to the left, across the top of the page.

  2. Depending on what treatment or medication you need to quickly access, click General, CPR, or Medications.

The corresponding General, CPR, or Medications page appears.

  3. In the page, click each of the treatments or medications your EMS personnel perform or administer.

A small green circle with a number appears in the upper right corner of each selected treatment or medication. The number indicates the number of times you clicked the button, indicating the number of times you performed the treatment or administered the medication.

  4. (If necessary) Click a treatment or medication again to reflect multiple treatments.

  5. In the upper right corner of the page, click OK.

The EHR module automatically adds the treatments or medications to the patient's PCR.
