Document patient transport

Patient transport documents how the patient was transported to and from the ambulance, their position during transport, and their condition upon arriving at the destination.

Note: The entire Transport section appears in the EHR module, on the Narrative tab, only if your ESO Suite administrator enabled fields in it in the Admin module, under EHR > Narrative Tab > Configurable fields.

Information on enabling EHR fields is available in the Admin module online help, in Configure tabs.

  1. At the top of the page, click the Narrative tab.

The contents of the Narrative tab appear, set to the Impressions bookmark in the left pane.

  2. In the left pane, click the Transport bookmark.

The right pane scrolls down to the top of the Patient Transport section of the page.

  3. For How Was Patient Moved TO Ambulance, click the list icon to the right of the field, select all the appropriate options from the menu that appears, then click OK or click outside the menu, to identify the method used to move the patient from the scene to the ambulance.

    Example: Backboard, stretcher

  4. For How Was Patient FROM Ambulance, click Stretcher, Assisted/Walk, Stairchair, or click Other and select the appropriate single option from the menu that appears.

This selection identifies how the patient was moved from the ambulance to treatment.

  5. For Patient Position During Transport, click the list icon to the right of the field, select all the appropriate options from the menu that appears, then click OK or click outside the menu to indicate how the patient was positioned in the ambulance while en route to the destination.

Example: Sitting, supine, prone, lateral left

  6. For Condition of Patient at Destination, Click Improved, Worse, or Unchanged to indicate the patient's condition upon arrival at destination.
