Failed to communicate with the Application Publishing Service

Issue  

After you install FH Web on the FH Web server, and then try to start the FH Web Connection Manager, an error message appears stating that there is a failure to communicate with the Application Publishing Service.

Explanation  

An FH Web service did not start automatically as expected.

Workaround  

  1. In the error message, click OK.

    The Connection Manager dialog box appears.

  2. Close the Connection Manager dialog box.

    The error message dialog box reappears.

  3. Click OK again.

  4. Choose Start → Run.

    The Run dialog box appears.
 

  1. In Open, type services.msc, and then click OK.

    The Services dialog box appears.

  2. In the right pane, scroll down and right-click FH Web Edition Application Publisher, and then choose Start from the menu that appears.

    The Service Control dialog box appears as Windows attempts to start the service.

    The service will start successfully, or a new error message appears.

  3. (If a new error message appears) Do the following.
    1. Write down the exact text of the error message, and then click OK.
    2. Close the Services dialog box.
    3. Contact FH technical support for assistance resolving the error.
