Route from a found location
Note: To route from a found location to a destination, you must have already defined a destination point for the route. Information on manually setting a destination point is available in Manually define a destination point for a route
Information on finding a location is available in Find a location on a map.
- (If you have not done so already) Find the location on the map, as described in Find a location on a map.

If more than one location appears in the tab listing the found locations, select the location you want to mark as the route starting point.
The push-pin on the map moves as necessary to identify the location you selected on the tab.

Depending on whether you are viewing the search results in basic or advanced mode, do one of the following.
Note: To display the results list in the tab in either basic or advanced mode, click Switch to Basic or Switch to Advanced. The name of the button changes, depending on which mode you are currently in.
Advanced modeNote: You can mark a result as a route-to location in the advanced mode in the same manner as in the basic mode, in addition to the steps below.

To the right of each item in the search results, click the right-pointing arrow.

From the menu that appears to the right, choose Route From.

Route Start
label appears on the map below the selected location's push-pin, the route from the found location to the destination point you selected earlier appears on the map as a thick blue line, and each turn is identified by a colored dot.Note: For more detailed information about the route, such as turn-by-turn directions, click the Routing Maps tab. If the Routing Maps tab is not displayed, choose Go → Maps → Routing Maps to display it.
If you are not using a GPS device, on the Routing Maps tab, the turn-by-turn directions pane in the lower right corner displays the message
Not Routing From GPS
, and only the address of the destination point appears in the pane. If you are using a GPS device, the turn-by-turn directions pane populates with additional information.
