Update an existing installation of FH CAD Monitor

Note: If you installed multiple instances of FH CAD Monitor because you are working with more than one CAD system, you need to update the installation for each system, and you must be licensed for each instance of FH CAD Monitor.

  1. Log on to the computer as a Windows administrator.
  2. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the location where you downloaded FH CAD Monitor.

  3. Double-click the FHCAD_Setup.exe file.

    The installation wizard for FH CAD Monitor appears, displaying the Welcome screen.

  4. Select Update Existing Installation, then click Next >.

    The Update Installation screen of the wizard appears.

  5. (Optional) Select Skip automatic search for existing installations.

  6. Click Next >.

    If you did not select Skip automatic search for existing installations in the previous step, FH CAD Monitor searches for all known installation locations, which may take several minutes. The Select Installation to Update screen of the wizard appears.

    If you selected Skip automatic search for existing installations in the previous step, the Specify Installation to Update screen of the wizard appears instead.

  7. Depending on which screen of the wizard appears, do one of the following.

    • Select the installation of FH CAD Monitor that you want to update, and then click Next >.

    1. (Optional) Click Browse, use the directory browser that appears to navigate to and double-click the FH CAD Monitor installation directory that you want to update, and then click OK.

      Caution: Be careful to double-click the name of the directory and verify that it appears in the path at the top of the directory browser. Selecting the directory with a single click does not add it to the path.

    2. Click Next >.

      The Configure Installation Location screen of the wizard appears.

    The update runs, and then the Installation Complete screen of the dialog box appears.

  8. Leave both options cleared, and then click Finish.

    The updated copy of FH CAD Monitor automatically launches.
