Add fields to the data import

You need to edit the FireRescue1 Academy data import already in FH to handle the additional fields in the updated data file sent from FireRescue1 Academy.

1. (If you have not done so already) Log into FH as an administrator.

2. Choose Administration → Database Administration → Import from External Data Source.

   The External Data Imports dialog box appears.

   

3. Select FireRescue1 Academy 2018, then click Properties.

   The External Data Import Properties dialog box appears, and lists the fields in your current FireRescue1 Academy import utility.

   

4. On the Fields tab, scroll to the bottom of list and check to see if a row for TRN_MAIN  COURSE_ID already exists.

   Note: For most customers, this row will not exist.

5. (If the row for TRN_MAIN  COURSE_ID does not exist) Add the TRN_MAIN  COURSE_ID row to the import.

   1. Click Add.

      The External Data Import Field Properties dialog box appears.

      

   2. From Target Table, scroll up the list of options, then choose TRN_MAIN.
   3. From Target Field, choose Course_ID.
   4. On the Source Field tab, scroll down, then select 15 in the list.
   5. Click Save, and then click Close.
6. Add the TRN_DET  COURSE_ID row to the import.

   1. In the External Data Import Properties dialog box, click Add again.

      The External Data Import Field Properties dialog box reappears.

   2. From Target Table, choose TRN_DET.
   3. From Target Field, choose Course_ID.
   4. On the Source Field tab, select 15 in the list.
   5. Click Save, and then click Close.

7. On the Fields tab, scroll to the bottom of list and check to see if rows for TRN_INST  SEQUENCE and TRN_INST  INS_CODE already exist.

   These rows indicate that you import instructor information from the FireRescue1 Academy data file.

8. (If rows for TRN_INST  SEQUENCE and TRN_INST  INS_CODE exist) Add the TRN_INST  COURSE_ID row to the import.

   1. In the External Data Import Properties dialog box, click Add again.

      The External Data Import Field Properties dialog box reappears.

   2. From Target Table, choose TRN_INST.
   3. From Target Field, choose Course_ID.
   4. On the Source Field tab, select 15 in the list.
   5. Click Save, and then click Close.
9. Continue with Configure station field import rules.
