Build the physical restrictions list
Note: You must have the full version of PM to build the physical restrictions list.
For information on upgrading to the full version of PM, go to https://www.eso.com/pm-demo/ and fill out the fields to request a demonstration and speak with a sales representative.
Physical restrictions are functional descriptions of what individuals at an agency or department can and cannot do, based on their physical history and medical guidance, particularly while recovering from an injury.
Example: No lifting over 25 pounds, and no reaching above shoulder height.
You can build a list of different types of restrictions your agency or department tracks for its personnel.
Note: The ability to work with settings in the PM module depends on what roles and permissions your ESO Suite administrator assigned to your user account. Information on user accounts, roles, and permissions is available in Manage a user account. |

to open them. -
In the left pane, expand Medical Lists, then click Physical Restrictions.
The Physical Restrictions screen appears, listing any restrictions already defined in the module.
-
Work with the list of physical restrictions in any of the following ways.
Add a physical restriction.-
In the upper right corner, click Add.
The Add Physical Restriction dialog box appears.
- In Physical Restrictions, type a name or description of the type of restriction you are adding.
-
Click Save.
The physical restriction you added appears as a new listing on the Physical Restrictions screen. The next time you add a new restriction on a person's Medical tab, in the Physicals section, this new restriction appears as an option in the Physical Restrictions field's menu.
Disable or enable a physical restriction. You can disable a physical restriction, so that the corresponding menu option does not appear in other areas of the module. You can always re-enable an physical restriction later, if needed.
-

A red Disabled label appears to the left of the physical restriction, and the physical restriction moves to the bottom of the list.
-
On the right side of the listing, click Actions, and choose Enable.
This option appears only if you disabled the physical restriction in the past.
The red Disabled label disappears to the left of the physical restriction, indicating that the physical restriction will appear again as a menu option in other areas of the ESO Suite.
Sort the physical restrictions list alphabetically. You can sort the list alphabetically to help find an item quickly.
-
In the upper right corner of the screen, click Sort Alphabetically.
The list sorts from A-Z.
Change the list order.Because some physical restrictions occur more frequently, you can sort the order of physical restrictions in the list for convenience when updating personnel records.
Example: Weight lifting restrictions occur with some frequency as personnel recover from injuries. It is convenient to have the restriction appear at or near the top of the physical restrictions list, for easy selection when updating personnel records each year.
-
Place your mouse pointer on the item you want to move to a new position in the list, drag it up or down the list to the position you want it to have in the list order, then "drop" the item where you want it to be in the list.
As the item you are dragging moves over each item in the list, the list items move up or down in the list to make room for the item in its new position in the list order.
Note: The list order in the Settings > Physical Restrictions screen determines the list order in the Physical Restrictions field in the rest of the module. Disabled values on the Settings > Physical Restrictions screen do not appear for the Physical Restriction field.
-
-
(Optional) Export the physical restrictions list.
You can export a list of all the physical restrictions currently listed in the module, regardless of whether they are enabled or disabled. The list exports to a comma-separated values (*csv) file, which may be read with Microsoft Excel or other software applications, and includes each physical restriction's name and status (active or deactivated).
