Add a text block to a dashboard

Sometimes you need to convey information that is not in the data source, but which is still important on the dashboard. You can add a text block to a dashboard to convey non-numerical information.

Note: You must have a designer role assigned to you in the ESO Insights module to add a text block to an existing dashboard.

Information on role assignments is available in Assign user roles in the ESO Insights module.

  1. Click the name of the dashboard you want to work with.

Tip: If the list of dashboards is long, you locate the dashboard you want more easily, as described in Find and open an existing dashboard or report.

The dashboard opens and displays any widgets it contains, and the data those widgets link to.

    Click graphics
    to open them.
  2. At the top of the dashboard, click the T (add text) icon.

The ESO Insights module adds a text block to the bottom of the dashboard.

  3. Click in the text block and type the information you want to add to the dashboard.

As you type a standard text formatting bar of icons appear above the text block.

  4. (Optional) Use the icons on the text formatting bar to change the appearance of the text in block as needed.
