FAQs for automatic synchronization
When AutoSync is enabled, it is enabled for all of your agency's mobile tablets automatically.
No, you do not need to do anything on your side to enable the AutoSync feature.
When an incident is present on a mobile tablet and that tablet has an Internet connection, ESO Solutions automatically syncs a read-only copy of the incident to the web. It will do this for both draft and locked incidents. If a user wishes to edit a draft incident from the web application, the incident must first be manually synced to the web.
ESO Solutions runs the AutoSync job every 15 minutes, updating the incident on the web with any new information from the mobile. This includes any attachments and cardiac monitor strips.
AutoSync will not cause any visible or workflow changes for end users. As per normal work flow, after an incident is completed, users still need to press the Sync button and manually sync the incident to the web.
Upon logging in to the web, any incidents that are in AutoSync mode will appear with the incident number in a gray, italic font with a status of "Mobile", as illustrated below.
Depending on the user's permissions, an incident in "Mobile" status on the web may also be printed, faxed, emailed, and uploaded. (Any attachments/cardiac monitor strips sent via AutoSync from the mobile are viewable from the web; however, no new forms/attachments may be uploaded from the web to an incident that is in "Mobile" status.
The incident may be viewed by clicking Print; it cannot be opened on the web while it is "Mobile" status.
No. Incidents in AutoSync/“Mobile" status will not be included in any extracts—even if they are locked—until they are manually synced to the web.
